初夢 (hatsuyume) means "first dream". It means the first dream you dream in the new year. According to Japanese belief, this first dream of the year will be indicative of the new year.
I don't have good dreams very often but what I dreamt this year would be great, so I hope there will be at least a little bit of truth in it.
Too bad that I'm sooo not superstitious.
