For years I wanted to have silver hair. Like the gyaru in Japan.
Maybe slightly silver-ish, like this.

Or real silver gray like this.

As my hais is effectively ruined anyway, and as it is almost white, I decided that it was finally worth a try.
So I bought directions hair toner. Super strong colours, said to cover anything. Best of all: You can wash it out, so there's no risk.
So, let's see!
Here's a picture of me, taken the day before. My hair is really bright. It doesn't look too good here. In order to have the toner stick well to my hair I stopped using conditioner a few days before, and instead only used cleansing shampoo on my hair.

On saturday, I had my girlfriends over for a TWIGHLIGHT marathon sleepover. Between movie 1 and 2, the hairy project was started.
I washed my hair with cleansing shampoo once again, then we applied a generous amount of the dye on my hair and combed and massaged it in. I was SO excited!
It said that you would have to keep the stuff on your hair for 15 minutes, but if you wanted the result to be extra strong, you could just add extra time. So I kept it in my hair for longer. I'd say 35-40 minutes?

When I washed the stuff out, I was soooo excited!
However, the girls next to me started saying "I can see blonde where you washed the stuff out", and I started to fear what would become a sad fact a few minutes later.
It had not worked. Part of my hair (mainly the most damaged areas, but others as well) had taken in the grey colour, but it was all pinkish/lilac-ish. The rest of my hair, at least 70%, was just as blonde as before.
DAMN!!!
I was so disappointed! I had SO SO SO SO wanted this colour! And now, that I thought "these are my last months as a student, so it's probably now or never", shit does not work!
DA FUCK???
My hair looked so different-colours-in-different-areas-ish that I washed it once more that night, to get out as much of the toner as possible, and dyed it over with light blonde today.
Now I am just as barbie blonde as ever, and I still think I look great with that hair colour. But still, I had really looked forward to having super cool and unexpected grey hair for a week or two.
I am afraid that the next time I will have grey hair will be the time when it's not so "cool" anymore, but mainstream among my generation.
So in the end, all I can say is: At least I tried.
Although the hair project was a big failure, the Twilight night was awesome. I had an amazing time and great fun with the girls. We had pizza, chocolate fondue, Bayleys ice-cream and cocktails. What Lady K said actually turned out to be true: The first movie was the worst. It got better, and the side characters' development in the third movie was really good. However, I still hate that dumb retarded bitch Bella with a passion. But at the same time, we laughed so much about many strange elements of the movies, I just loved it.
So I'm looking forward to my cinema date with K for the 4th Twilight movie. What a joyful time it will be!
To celebrate my joy, please have a look at this amazing penis pepper:
Gross, eh? I took this photo weeks ago at my brother's place. He and his girlfriend had spared this funny-shaped thing so that I could have a look at it. Hurray!
And now, last but not least, I'd like to share a very wise moment of philosophy and self-esteem with you guys.
It goes as follows:
There are so many people longing for magic like in the Harry Potter books. They want to be great wizards, with superpowers, do extraordinary things that others can't do. However, I'm like:
Why in the world would I want to have powers like Harry Potter?
into that:

I'd say I'm all the magician I need to be and more.
Have a great new week, my few but faithfull readers!

I think it's nearly impossible to dye your hair silver, unless you already have a natural white-blond or grey hair color. Better idea: Get a wig!
ReplyDeleteUnd jaaaa, the magic of make-up!!! Ich liebe sie ;D
Doris: Gnaaaaah, wig is so like, cheating, like, you know.....whatever ;D
ReplyDeleteHonestly: I would have thought that, maybe a darker shade of grey should be possible with my hair being quite white. I know it's the hardest shade of them all (apart from white), but I soooo wanted to try.
Maybe I'll try silver spray colour from some costume store.
D: Hurra, wenigstens bin ich FF-artig. Heißt das, dass du jetzt mein Fangirl bist? Oh Gott.....
Möge die Macht der Schminke mit uns sein!
If anyone was able to pull off that lilac/greyish mess, it'd have been you! You're fabulous regardless of your hair colour ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd have loved to see you silver-haired (while it's still considered edgy ;)), because it looked awesome when you tried out that other silvery colour.
I'm looking forward to part 4 of You-Know-What. Not because of You-Know-What itself, but because of your hilarious (yet deeply justified) side remarks. Oh, and because we can see dumbtard Bella suffer.
@Nori
ReplyDeleteIch war doch schon immer dein Fangirl :*
