An update on everybody's all-time favorite darling coworker again!
But when I met up with my colleagues yesterday night for a few drinks, they talked about him. To be more specific, they talked about the fact that he has, apparently, left work an hour early every fucking day since he started.
Okay, the professor is on vacation this week and new guy does not have anything to do yet, so basically, he would only sit there, google funny cat videos and kill time, and the professor would not even see the still-burning lights at new guy's office.
Okay, I don't know if maybe he arrives an hour earlier in the morning, so talking in terms of working hours he might be doing all he has to do, and maybe in the evenings he's got church choir's practice afterwards or visits the elderly and reads the newspapers for them or whatever.
Okay, maybe I am not properly informed and he has, in fact, only left early a few times and the colleagues have exaggerated the stuff a little.
HOOOOOWEVER,
how the fuck can you start a new job and, during your first two weeks, leave early? I mean, it's all about showing your eagerness, so why the fuck doesn't he just stay and kill that last hour, doing private mails or whatever? By leaving early you give such a bad impression of yourself!
I don't get it. There are so many things you can do wrong when you start a new job, but if there is ONE thing you can do right, it is NOT LEAVE EARLY, derp!
Es sind manchmal diese ganz kleinen Dinge, bei denen sich die Leute GANZ TIEF in das Fettnäpfchen setzen. Eigentlich sollte man es besser wissen: "Ich bin neu, also komme ich nicht nur unglaubliche viel früher, um immer pünktlich zu sein, sondern bleibe auch mindestens bis zum Schluss!!!" Schludern kann man immer noch, wenn einen alle kennen! :9

DeleteBesonders lustig ist sein frühes Abhauen ja in der Hinsicht, dass er seine Diss doch in zwei Jahren schaffen will --- na, da sollte er aber JETZT eine ganz genaue Vorstellung von seinem Thema haben und schon jetzt jeden Abend dran sitzen, seine Vorgehensweise zu entwickeln.
Die meisten brauchen etwa ein Jahr, bis sich die Idee zur Doktorarbeit komplett entwickelt hat und sie wirklich anfangen können, dran zu arbeiten.
Hier hätte ich seine einzige Chance gesehen, tatsächlich Zeit zu sparen.
Und wusch---- ist sie weg.
Genauso wie der Typ in ein paar Monaten...
Och, du würdest dich wundern, was die Leute alles für blöde Sachen machen ohne drüber nachzudenken.........

DeleteDa bilde ich ja auch keine Ausnahme, aber gerade, wenn man in Großbritannien an einer Boarding School Abitur gemacht hat, sollte man eigentlich ein ganz exzellentes Benehmen an den Tag legen können --- und so etwas wie "geh nicht früher" lernt man dort garantiert....
